Finely Crafted Virtual Toys

The Fritz-Craft LED Busy Board is designed for our favorite wee ones' exploration and discovery... it is NOT SCREEN-TIME ENTERTAINMENT! There are no flashing lights, no songs, nothing that demands attention or distracts a child. But it is chock-full of passive cause-and-effect learning experiences.

Our little guy, Fritz, was diagnosed with hydrocephalus at his 9-month pediatrician's check-up. It was a painful experience to receive this news, and there were many hardships along the path to Fritz's brain surgery and throughout his subsequent recovery. Despite the many difficult bumps in the road, we have been overwhelmed with joy and thankfulness too! Each challenge overcome has given our family strength and brought us closer to the people we love. These experiences also led to the creation of Fritz-Craft and this Busy Board app :)

During Fritz’s time in physical therapy, we came across a simple toy that had little chicks pop out of eggs when a child pressed, twisted, or slid a button. Fritz loved the toy, and we realized that we did not have any toys of this nature in our home. I searched for a virtual toy with similar traits, and a rabbit hole of research and curiosity ultimately led to creating this virtual electronic board.

Inspired by lessons learned in 'The Montessori Method' (an excellent read for all humans), our busy board uses photographs of real rocker switches, 3-pull guitar pedal switches, LED lights, and uses real recordings of the actual switches found on the board. These elements combine to give gratifying confirmation of successful actions (pressing, releasing, sliding, etc.), but they do so without hyped success bells or congratulatory entertainment.
